Picture Book Database
The database aims to “fulfill the dream of picture book creation for yourself” and features “the spirit of originality” to create an exchange venue for creative picture books and a stage to display works. The main goal is to continuously inquire, establish, collect, and preserve various digital resources. On one hand, it provides content storage and display for schools, institutions, and charitable organizations through establishing a platform for various digital collections. On the other hand, it encourages the public to read and share through network connection. We expect to promote public information acquisition and ensure the smooth application of the information.
The database was launched online in December 2011. In the beginning, it focused on collecting students’ works in picture books. From 2014, it was extended the collection to local featured picture books and award-winning picture books. Up to now, it contains more than 1,054 types of picture books.
Picture books in the database provide functional options of hidden text, read-out, or adding Hanyu Pinyin. Mode of parent-child shared reading resources can be selected according to the needs. Meanwhile, suitable age is remarked and relevant teaching resources are collected (like color paper or learning sheet) to provide teachers for application in diverse teaching content. It also holds creation exhibition or picture book teaching seminars from time to time.
