The Memory of Hsinchu City
To preserve and represent the shared memories between the land and the people, Ministry of Culture launched “forward-looking basic infrastructure program- digital construction- Taiwan Cultural Memory Bank and digital value-added application enhancement program.” Technology was introduced to the structure of the national cultural platform to enhance the public engagement in the construction of local knowledge. It will be used as the basic element for cultural, creative, and economic industries and further to market the native culture in Taiwan in order to connect with the world. To cooperate with “Program of Ministry of Culture Subsidizing Municipal and County (City) Governments Promoting Taiwan Cultural Memory Bank,” Cultural Affairs Bureau, Hsinchu City, proposed a four-year “Memory of Hsinchu City Program” collects, checks, and integrates cultural heritages and materials in Hsinchu City in systematic and theme-based approaches to establish “Memory of Hsinchu City” as well as promote local knowledge digitalization, publicized and value-added application tasks.
