Instructions of Using the Interlibrary Card Exchanged with National Tsing Hua University Library
1. To make it convenient for sharing university library resources with patrons of public libraries, the service of “interlibrary card” for National Tsing Hua University Library is open for application.
2. Age limit: In cooperation with the university library regulations, the service is only provided to patrons who are 18 years old or above.
3. Location for check-out, return, and reservation pick-up: Zoo Branch, Hsinchu City Library
4. Methods of check-out: With the library card issued by our Library, each card can exchange for ONE interlibrary card for Tsing Hua University Library with a loan period of sixty days. Books can be reserved but cannot be renewed. Please enter “National Tsing Hua University Interlibrary Card” on the collection search system for direct reservation.
5. Deposit requirement: To effectively regulate patrons, those who check out books and materials must pay a deposit of NT$2,000. The Library will issue a receipt and turn in the deposit according to the regulation. Patrons will be informed to collect the deposit back in the year followed (it means the deposit will not be refunded every time when the interlibrary card expired; submission of another application of the interlibrary card in the same year will not be collected deposit again.)
6. Quantity: The Library only provides maximum 20 interlibrary cards for patrons to apply.
7. Presenting “National Tsing Hua University Interlibrary Card” at National Tsing Hua University Library to borrow books at the site:
◎The library only verifies the card but not the card holder. Please do bring “National Tsing Hua University Interlibrary Card” to the university library.
◎National Tsing Hua University Library Policy: Each interlibrary library card can check out five books at each collection location under the management of National Tsing Hua University Library with a loan period of thirty days (no reservation and renewal). Besides, the card holders can access audiovisual media at the audio-visual center in the university by presenting the card. The rest will be the same as the library regulations established by the university library.
8. Before the expiration of the “National Tsing Hua University Interlibrary Card,” all the books borrowed from the National Tsing Hua University Library must be returned. Any overdue books that are failed to be returned will be handled according to the regulations established by the University. Hsinchu City Public Library will confirm the completion of above procedures before dealing with the return of the interlibrary card.
9. The “National Tsing Hua University Interlibrary Card” issued by the Library must be returned upon the expiration. Failure of returning the interlibrary card when it is due will be punished with users’ right suspension. That is, one-day delay for each item will be punished with right suspension (including services of check-out, reservation, and interlibrary loan) for one day, starting from the next day after books are returned.
