Hsinchu City and Hsinchu County Public Library “One Pass and Joint Interlibrary Return Service Notice”
To expand the scope of service provided by libraries, Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City work together to launch the services of public library “One Pass” and “Joint Interlibrary Return” in order to realize the convenience of greater Hsinchu common living circle.
1. One Pass:
(1) Patrons who are library card holders of Hsinchu City or Hsinchu County Public Library are entitled to check out books and materials from public libraries in Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City.
(2) The number of books to be checked out from Hsinchu City Public Library and Hsinchu County Library will be calculated separately.
2. Joint Interlibrary Return:
(1) Books and materials checked out by patrons are applicable for interlibrary return at any branch of public libraries in Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City. (except for the self-service equipment for check-out and check-in outside the libraries)
(2) If overdue, the interlibrary return will still be accepted. The right of check-out will be resumed after the expiration of right suspension period.
(3) For situations of compensation or other charges, patrons must go to the original library where the books are checked out.
Methods of activating One Pass:
1. For those who have a library card issued in Hsinchu City or Hsinchu County:
(1) Online activation: Patrons who are library card holders for any of the branch libraries can log in the website of the library and apply for the activation.
(2) Activation over the service desk: Please bring your identity card or other supporting documents to a public library in Hsinchu County or Hsinchu City for the activation application in person.
2. Applying a library card for the first time: It shall be handled according to the regulations established by each branch.
3. After activation, patrons’ personal information registered in Hsinchu County and City Public Library will be synchronously updated along with the changes of personal data or any changes on the status of the library card in the future.
*The service is only applicable to the personal library card issued by public libraries in Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City.
*If there is any matter that is not specified in the notice, it will be handled according to the regulations published by the cultural affairs bureau in each county and city.
