Electronic books

National Library of Public Information e-Book Service Platform (books in collection)
It provides a free and scope-free e-book online reading and loan service. Collections of nearly 27,000 types of more than 250,000 e-books in traditional Chinese are open to people all over the country and patrons of public libraries to register as a member to use the platform. As long as you have a library card issued by any public library in the country, you will be entitled to register to become the member of the platform (for those who do not have an identity card, please contact a librarian in National Library of Public Information for assistance) to enjoy the convenient e-book service.
Other than general books and materials, the current collection of e-books includes government publications and works authorized by individuals. The quantity is increasing.
 
Methods:
Method 1: Patrons in the City can become members of National Library of Public Information after logging in the personal bookstore in the library website to activate the service of One Pass patrons for National Library of Public Information. Please refer to Library Rules- Hsinchu City Public Library and National Library of Public Information “Digital Resources One Pass” Service Introduction- Hsinchu City Library for details.

Method 2: Register to become a member of National Library of Public Information and apply for a physical library card or digital library card. If choosing to upload identity supporting documents to verify identity for the digital library card, the approval procedure takes three working days (if it will be postponed for Lunar New Year’s holidays, regular holidays, or closing day) and will be handled by dedicated personnel according to the sequence of applications received. If receiving a huge amount of applications and requiring more than three working days, a separate email will be sent for notification. After the procedure is completed, patrons will be notified by email. If using Citizen Digital Certificate to verify the identity, the digital library card permission will be activated after the verification. iLib Reader” APP can be downloaded to and use on a mobile device by selecting the library from the upper left of the webpage and log in with the account number and password for the library card.
Check-out instruction: Each patron is entitled to borrow eight books in total. Each electronic book can be on loan for fourteen days and can be automatically returned through the system after due. If no other patrons make a reservation for the book, it can be renewed once. The loan period will be calculated from the renewal day for fourteen days. In addition, patrons can reserve four books. The reservation will be retained for seven days.
