Electronic books
iRead eBook (electronic books that are based on the count service every month)
Method: Go to the webpage and select “Hsinchu City Public Library”; after logging with the library card number and password, you can start to check out e-books online from the platform.
The webpage also provides online reading. For mobile devices, “Airiti Reader” APP can be downloaded to use.
Instructions: For electronic books provided for check-out by count, each patron is entitled to borrow two books every month for a loan period of fourteen days. The service will be suspended when the month quota is used up.
Each electronic book checked out by patrons can be read online or offline in fourteen days. It will be automatically returned when due. Any patron who fails to finish reading the book within fourteen days, the loan period can be renewed by deducting one more point.
From September 1, 2023, in cooperation with “Expansion of e-Book Loan Service by Count” launched by Ministry of Culture, we updated loan service instructions.
Service of access by count announced by Ministry of Culture:
Each patron can borrow ten books each time. After returning the books, patrons can use the loan service again or use other services. The loan period is fourteen days.
If “the books borrowed” in the count-based service accumulate five books that are not opened to read (that is, a message of right suspension will be displayed when borrowing the sixth book), the right to loan service will be suspended one month.
