Electronic books
Taiwan e-Book Service@ Hsinchu City(electronic books based on the count service)
It provide a total of 58,810 books (up to July 11, 2024) and will continue expanding the collection and displaying on the shelves from time to time.
Methods: After logging in with the number and password of the library card issued by Hsinchu City Public Library, you can read part of chapters of electronic books on the shelves free of charge. If you decided to check out the book, after being verified no error on the log-in details through the remote system, you can borrow the book by deducting one point.
“Taiwan e-Book Service” APP can be downloaded to mobile devices to use.
Instructions: For electronic books by count, each patron is entitled to check out two books every month for a loan period of fourteen days.
Each electronic book borrowed by patrons can be read online or offline in fourteen days. It will be automatically returned when due. Any patron who fails to finish reading the book within fourteen days, the loan period can be renewed by deducting one more point.
From September 1, 2023, in cooperation with “Expansion of e-Book Access Service by Count” launched by Ministry of Culture, we updated access service instructions.
Service of access by count announced by Ministry of Culture:
Each patron can borrow ten books each time After returning the books, patrons can use the loan service again or use other services. The loan period is fourteen days.
If “the books borrowed” in the count-based service accumulate five books that are not opened to read (that is, a message of right suspension will be displayed when borrowing the sixth book), the right to loan service will be suspended one month.
